Literature Text

Pink petals who fell victim to the winds kind rage, grace the entrance of Watanabe High School as their annual entrance ceremony begins. With a new wave of youth entering the school, one boy walks alone through the hallways of the first year level. Shiro Ogura, a rather average teen in terms of height and build, yet graced with an impeccable handsome and quiet aura. And now this quiet and almost awkward teen opens the door to his new classroom where he recognizes no one.
"I don't know a single person here," he begins as he takes a seat by the rectangular windows over viewing the entrance, "but it's not like I was going to talk with anybody anyways."
Now the door slides open and in comes the beauty of the classroom, Airu Tachibana, who immediately begins to steal the hearts of all the boys in the class. And as well wth her presence, gossip begins floating through each of the students ears that Airu is being crowned with "Prettiest first year."
"Airu Tachibana..." Shiro whispers as a slight blush covers his face, "we went to school together yet it feels like we're from completely different worlds."
"Alright class take your seats," the frail and old teacher whispers to her youthful class.
With the teacher going over their plans for the school year, Shiro simply gazes out the window, admiring the beauty and innocence of the Cherry blossom trees as they bloom; while the rest of his classmates whisper to each other as they tell their tales of how great their vacations went. And as soon as school began, it ended uneventfully, with the students now getting up and heading out the class.
"I can't wait to get out of here," Shiro thinks to himself as he gets out off his desk and grabs his bag. Now Shiro looks across the class towards the door, only to find Airu gazing somewhat passionately at him. And caught off guard by the sudden meeting of their eyes, Airu jumps up quickly and heads out of the classroom in a hurry. Ignoring the small event, Shiro waltzes out of the class and begins his trip home, indulging in his favorite book. Passing by neighborhoods and beautiful scenery, Shiro blocks everything out and solely focuses on the word filled pages in front of him. Yet soon the apartment complex where he lives at begins to rise as he approaches the end of the road. And to his surprise he finds a guest waiting for him outside of his room. Asuka Kaga, a cool beauty with a slender physique and rather tall for a girl, her enticing and silky black hair waving effortlessly in the breeze parading around her.
"Shiro!" She yells from the second level as she spots him approaching the complex. Shiro simply waves his hand and heads up to meet his friend. "So this is where you're going to live from now on?" Asuka asks as they enter Shiro's room.
"Yup. I like it here, it feels like home." Shiro says softly as he puts his bag dowm and heads towards the kitchen.
"I see you're still soft-spoken as ever Shiro," Asuka begins as she takes a seat at the counter looking in at the kitchen, "so... how ya doing Shiro? It must be tough going through so much right now."
Shiro stiffens up as he pauses whilst cutting lettuce. "What's done is done," he begins, letting the words silently slip through his lips, "I'll get through it." Resuming his chef act, he continues to work on the meal he and Asuka will be sharing.
"But at least we're back together again Shiro, just like old times. But it won't be the same with only my parents around now, even they took the news of what happened to heart." Asuka halts as she notices Shiro completely paused, simply watching the soup warm as his mind drifts far, very far. "At least we're still together," she whispers as she places her head on Shiro's shoulder. Now what seemed mere minutes pass by silently leaving the childhood friends with a warming sensation in each of their hearts.
"I'm glad you came Asuka," Shiro says to Asuka as he walks her outside, with the blue sky slowly shading itself pink.
"I'll see you later then Shiro."
"Bye."
Shiro heads back inside and throws himself onto his bed where he sinks into it's meaningless comfort. Suddenly Airu's passionate gaze re-enters Shiro's mind and he can't help but to feel that he's seen that look before. Yet before he can dig through the far recesses of his mind, Shiro is finally swallowed by the comfort of his bed.
With the sun rising and a very loud and obnoxious alarm ringing in Shiro's ear, he finally revives himself from his deep slumber and begins readying himself for the torture of school.
"Why did i even wake up." Shiro whispers as he drags himself into school.
Like usual he arrives at school, carrying his same solemn facial expression, heading towards the shoe lockers.
"What's this..." he thinks as he finds a red letter with a heart sticker sealing it inside of his locker. Upon examining the delicate envelope and paper inside, Shiro is astounded to find a love letter from a mysterious admirer. But the almost putrid and foul smell coming from the envelope is enough to make it lose its appeal to Shiro. "This smells gross, smells like apples. Must be a prank." He whispers as he slides it into the shoe locker next to his. Suddenly he hears a huge thud coming from the end of the lockers. Peaking around the corners, Shiro finds nothing to explain the loud bang, so he simply heads to class. With the bell ringing upon his arrival, Shiro sits and waits for class to begin. Now the students begin their regular lessons for courses such as math, english, and japanese. And as fast as their lessons began, the lunch bell rings freeing the students from dying of boredom.
"I might as well check my locker again to see if I'm still being messed with."
As he arrives at his locker, Shiro slowly opens the door and out slides another letter, this time simply a white sheet of paper with gorgeous feminine handwriting.
"Please meet me at the roof." The letter reads almost a bit forceful this time.
"Well, whoever is putting so much effort into this at least deserves the satisfaction of seeing my face as they yell that it was all a prank."
Now on the roof, Shiro finds it deserted with it as quiet as Shiro's personality. Approaching the rails facing the back of the school he places his slender back to them and begins to laugh.
"Well what did you expect Shiro, it was a prank." he says to myself as he begins to lean back on the rail more, yet he hears a faint snapping noise. The rail immediately snaps and down goes Shiro, falling back and beginning his slow descent to the ground while extending his arm to the sky in hopes for a miracle.
